Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

The road to recovery goes well beyond completing an Inpatient Program.

Many patients who have completed Inpatient Treatment at New Beginnings Lake Charles step down into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The focus of our IOP is to reintegrate individuals into society while we further collaborate with them on developing continuing care plans, exploring employment opportunities, and preparing them for the next step in their recovery. This phase of treatment is an appropriate transition between the intense experience of inpatient treatment and the challenges the “real world” can present to early recovery.

Our treatment program is designed to fully engage the individual in the process of his/her own recovery in an environment that is far removed from the distractions of everyday life. IOP group therapy sessions occur three times a week for an average of 10 weeks, with additional individual therapy sessions. Therapy sessions include group, individual and family sessions enabling patients to address the issues that helped fuel the substance-abuse problems in their life. Participants will have continued communication with their 12 Step Sponsor and attend 12 Step meetings

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is not limited to individuals who have gone through an inpatient alcohol and drug treatment program, but is available to individuals who need that extra support the New Beginnings Lake Charles Clinical Team offers. Through our IOP, we continue to support individuals who are rebuilding their lives after overcoming addiction.
